Planning a baby shower - Part 2

We hope you've enjoyed Planning a baby shower - Part 1, where we covered:

Now let's look at our final five tips:

Now, while you are planning a baby shower you can select a theme. It could be simple and elegant or a fun theme depending on what the expectant mum would like and what would suit your budget.

You cannot plan a baby shower without having a guest list! If it is to be a surprise party, often the other half or mother of mum-to-be can be helpful in suggesting who to invite.

Now the refreshments. You will need to either book a restaurant or plan a baby shower menu if you will be hosting the party at a private location.

Send the invitations. If your budget allows it, printed invitations can be very nice, but an email or phone call will do the same job and save you money that can be spent on other things. Be sure to include the date, time, location, and directions to the baby shower. Also include when and where to R.S.V.P.

Make a list of the food and party supplies you will need for the shower.

Part of planning a baby shower that will be memorable can be choosing a unique and beautiful gift such as a nappy cake. One of our hand-crafted deluxe nappy cakes can be a real centre piece for the party. We have many different colours and sizes in stock or would be more than happy to create a unique one to suit your theme and budget. Go to our nappy cake page or use our contact page to find out more.

Choose what entertainment there will be. Just remember that some games can embarrass the mum-to-be or guests, especially when you have a variety of ages at the party, so make sure you stay away from those games!

A few final suggestions on planning your baby shower to be the joyous occasion it should be. Make sure someone has a camera or video camera to capture some of the memories at the shower. You could buy some disposable cameras for the guests to take some informal pictures. It might be really nice for the mum-to-be not to have to drive herself to the shower, so you could arrange for someone to collect her and drop her off at home afterwards.

It might seem as if there is a lot to do, but with a little thought, and some help from friends you could plan a baby shower that will bring a smile to all of the guests and most importantly, to the mum-to-be at this special time in her life!
